Eröffnungsfest „Abfall im Wandel“

A celebration for young explorers and the curious of all ages: On August 30, we’ll be celebrating the opening of the new exhibition “Waste in Transition” at the Georgswerder Energy Hill .

Here, you can explore in an interactive and playful way how waste management in Hamburg has changed—from the former Georgswerder landfill to waste sorting, waste prevention, and the circular economy.

Look forward to a fun-filled afternoon for the whole family with exclusive glimpses into the new exhibition, a film screening followed by a Q&A, and the photo exhibition “Contemporary Witnesses: Georgswerder Landfill.”

There’s also plenty to discover through hands-on activities: a trash can toss game, a wheel of fortune, a bottle cap obstacle course, and an upcycling craft workshop all bring the topics of trash, recycling, and circularity to life in a playful way—complete with small prizes.

Fresh pizza from Fetta Pizza and specialty coffees from the Coffee-Bike will create a relaxed summer atmosphere. Plus, there’s plenty of time to explore, chat, and enjoy—with a view of Hamburg.
