HUMOR IN THE FIFTH DIMENSION

If you look in the dictionary, PIPIFAX stands for "foolish stuff and nonsense." This is exactly what Erwin Grosche has been doing on stage for 50 years, hiding touching philosophical thoughts and serious insights in all the nonsense.

And then he often has a little song on his lips while accompanying himself with a blue children's accordion or piano. Sometimes it's about something getting in the way, sometimes he sings an ode to the poppy seed cake that drives him to strange thoughts. And as if that wasn't enough, he plays the accordion with his double chin! And then Erwin with a wig made from the chest hair of Brad Pitt the Elder! It doesn't really get any better than that.

Unless it's a miracle: the miraculously resurrected garden lawn waste bag. There is a feeling for language and wit, there are intelligent double entendres instead of flat ambiguities, there is a talent for lovingly portraying people's weaknesses and making the audience laugh without making others look ridiculous.

Where colleagues let loose two-dimensional corny jokes, Erwin Grosche has a third, a fourth, a fifth dimension. Wonderful miniatures that inspire at first glance and always reveal something new on closer inspection and listening.
