Eu tenho uma história que se parece com a minha. Performance von Tetembua Dandara

In the organizer's words:

A family celebration for everyone: Brazilian artist Tetembua Dandara celebrates her transcontinental family history(ies) across four generations of women. She is in conversation with her grandmother Dirce Poli, her mother Neuza Poli and her sister Mafoane Odara.

The audience is invited into a room reminiscent of the grandmother's living room, a Brazilian backyard or a party from the 1990s. Here, the stories are reconstructed through voices, smells, tastes and sights. The audience can move freely through the rooms and stories, eat, drink and dance along.

The work is based on a photo book that contains empty (and black) spaces and creates a dialog between images and a few words. She also created this book together with Dirce and Neuza Poli and Mafoane Odara.

"This performance is characterized by the ability to reveal the act of making theater with insight and sensitivity, while at the same time bringing us into the intimacy of a family and its highly political statements - between continuity and rupture, between connections and their gaps." (Carolina Wos, Deus Ateo)
