The final concert of the Music Festival of Democracy puts the achievements of European humanism to the test: they have been and remain contested since Beethoven's lifetime. Ensemble Resonanz confronts Beethoven's symphonic celebration of a hero, born out of his enthusiasm for Napoleon, with today's realities on Europe's borders.
