The myth of Europa goes like this: a young woman is abducted and raped by Zeus, the father of the gods, in the form of a bull. But at least she is predicted a great future. Miru Miroslava Svolikova turns this myth on its head: Europa kills the bull and cuts it into fillets. What follows is a cleverly composed and playful round dance about the identity of Europe and the history associated with it. The play, which celebrated its world premiere as part of the Autor:innentheatertage at the Deutsches Theater Berlin in 2018, is a farce, a wild carnival that puts its finger on many a bloody wound in European history.
