Evgeny Grinko was born in Zukhovsky, Russia, in 1985 and came into contact with music at an early age through films and cartoons. Fascinated by Russian rockabilly and surf music and inspired by western bands such as Prodigy and Nirvana, he received his first guitar as a teenager. At 16, Evgeny started playing guitar professionally, later switching to drums and joining indie noise bands in Moscow. A key moment was when he discovered the piano and taught himself to play. His composition "Valse" went viral on Facebook in 2010 and catapulted him into the contemporary classical music scene.

Since then, Evgeny has released four albums and six EPs, including "Ice for Aureliano Buendia" and "Orange Marmalade". His music, which mixes humor, sadness and cinematic elements, has reached a worldwide audience, racking up over 400 million Spotify streams and 200 million YouTube views. In 2022, Evgeny left Russia after speaking out against the invasion of Ukraine and eventually relocated to Berlin. He continues to make music and remains an important figure in contemporary classical music. A new album is planned for 2025.
