"Experimentieren und Loslassen" Collage-Workshop in Berlin, Deutschland

"Experimentieren und Loslassen" Collage-Workshop in Berlin, Deutschland

In the organizer's words:

Julia Praschma lives and works as a freelance illustrator and designer in Berlin. Originally from the Ruhr area, she learned there to fill the world around her with color and positivity - also through her illustrations.

She sees herself as a hippie clown punk barbie who loves to share resources, ideas and sometimes even her lunch. Spreading good vibes is her profession. Years of practicing yoga and meditation help her to stay calm and present. But she also feels very comfortable in the midst of hustle and bustle, deadlines and mosh pits.

All these contrasts are reflected in her work, which is characterized by diverse themes, bright colors and wild compositions. Her specialty is pushing the boundaries of collage by playfully combining photographic material with illustrative elements.

She works mainly in the fields of editorial and branding. She now produces her works digitally, but always returns to analog.

Collage is an accessible field of experience that allows participants to intuitively immerse themselves in the material during her "experiment and let go" collage workshop. Simple tools such as paper, scissors, cutters and glue invite you to get involved.

In contrast to our screen-based work, collage is an opportunity to experience things with your hands, to deconstruct material, to create your own and new compositions. Creating paper collages is relaxing. Participants are invited to engage in a meditative process, to switch off, to let go of everyday stress and to express themselves in images and forms.

At the end of the workshop, participants can take one (or more) finished paper collage(s) home with them.
The focus here is clearly on experimentation, detached from the pressure of having to fulfill a task or create a finished end product. It is important to Julia to create a relaxed atmosphere and a non-judgmental space where you can exchange ideas openly.
