ExpoBox zum Entdecken

With a glass exhibition container - called ExpoBox - the Leipzig Natural History Museum is now bringing its first exhibition flair to the construction site at the former bowling alley on Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz.

The six-by-three-meter container is located directly next to the construction fence and will display themes from the farewell exhibition from the old building in Lortzingstraße, which was launched in 2025, over the next four years of the construction period.

The current exhibition is dedicated to botanical objects and their presentation in different - sometimes historical - forms. The focus here is on two topics that will also play an important role in the future museum: the flora and ecology of the Leipzig floodplain forest and the plant diversity of the historic Bienitz meadows around 1850.
