Careleavers share their stories: Some tell of powerlessness, others of friendship, of family. Every story is unique. It's about trust. Trust in yourself and trust in others. These stories want to be told. By you, the audience. Decide at the entrance whether you would like to read our stories.

Careleavers are people who have spent part or all of their lives in residential child and youth care. The challenges faced by care leavers are extremely high: they have to stand on their own two feet much earlier and much more radically - in a society that is not sensitized to their special situation and in which unequal starting conditions are given little consideration. In addition, they are assigned or written off characteristics based on their care biography, and they encounter individual, structural and institutional hurdles. The term careleaver:in is a self-designation and offers an alternative to the terms institutional or foster child, which often carry a lot of stigma.

F_AIN'T is a project of the Careleaver* Collective Leipzig, designed and implemented by Kaća Holzmann. We empower careleavers and support them in shaping their lives in a self-determined and equal way. We offer individual advice and support services as well as formats for self-organization and self-advocacy. With the help of the collective structure and the existing network, we support care leavers in implementing their own project ideas. Care leavers share their experiences peer-to-peer, strengthen each other and become active together. We offer various training and transfer opportunities for professionals, supporters and interested parties.
