Hello, we want to talk. About the fact that we exist. About the fact that we want more visibility and audibility for Flinta* DJs. About the fact that this requires conditions, open spaces, exchange and networking opportunities. About safe(r) spaces, about access and belonging, about creating conditions, about co-creating places, spaces and opportunities. About trying things out, learning new things, failing, starting again from scratch, always finding new things, carrying on. Despite the pandemic, patriarchy, bankruptcy and precarious working conditions.

Since 2009, the Flinta* rehearsal room at Conne Island has offered a (relatively) safe space to learn, practise and experiment with DJing. In 2019, the mentoring program was launched, in which DJs from the Leipzig scene pass on their knowledge to beginners and support them in protected one-on-one sessions to find their way between filters, faders, knobs and buttons, find their own sound and develop further.

In the panel talk followed by a party, we want to exchange perspectives, talk to each other, reflect on and activate potential for action, learn from each other and have a good time together.
