Discover Hamburg's surprising sides - between harbor, marshland and wilderness

This cycle tour is full of contrasts: leave the bustling St. Pauli behind you and dive down with us - under the Elbe. Through the tunnel, you enter another world. On the opposite bank, the rough, industrial side of the port unfolds and forms an impressive contrast to the colorful hustle and bustle at the Landungsbrücken.

Passing the historic "Peking", the route continues onto the green half of Europe's largest river island. Take a deep breath in the vast marshland of Wilhelmsburg! We cycle along the Georgswerder energy mountain to the Kreetsand dyke reclamation project and follow the Elbe further south to Bunthäuser Spitze.

A special highlight awaits you there: from the lighthouse you can enjoy the view of the dividing Elbe. Time for a short break - perhaps with a visit to a café - and exciting insights into the unique freshwater mudflats at the Elbe Tidal Floodplain Center: a rare ecosystem with extraordinary biodiversity right on the city's doorstep.

In the Heuckenlock nature reserve, you can experience this fascinating landscape up close and learn more about its importance for the tidal Elbe. After a detour past the BUND nature experience garden, our tour ends after around 25 kilometers full of impressions at Wilhelmsburg S-Bahn station.
