With the "Falten-Frei-Tanz", an Essen-based women's initiative in cooperation with the LeichtR association is launching a new, inclusive dance format for people aged 60 and over in the secularized church Trudis in Essen's Nordstadt district. On Sunday, January 25, 2026, Trudis will be transformed into an open dance floor from 4 to 8 pm with a lively mix of rock, pop, disco and indie. Free admission, donations are welcome.
The music ranges from classics to current sounds from rock, pop, disco and indie - danceable, energetic and intergenerational. The atmosphere is relaxed, barrier-free and respectful. The focus is on dancing as a communal experience. There is seating, quiet zones and friendly support on site.
The dance event takes place in the TRUDI creative cathedral, in the former St. Gertrud parish hall. Entrance via Viehofer Straße.
