As is tradition, Werner Pöhling awaits you on Boxing Day with a family-friendly guided tour through Duisburg's city history:

From the Stone Age prehistory of the region to a Roman fortification on the Burgplatz to the founding of Duisburg by Frankish kings. The city soon became a highly respected trading town and even attracted predatory Vikings. However, a relocation of the Rhine in the Middle Ages initially had a negative impact on trade and the economy... Werner Pöhling reviews the history of the city in an entertaining and anecdotal way.
