Familiengeschichten entziffern – Einführung in Sütterlin

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

What can letters, diaries and other manuscripts tell us about flight and expulsion? Personal testimonies reveal the individual experiences of German refugees and displaced persons. Many of these texts are written in Sütterlin. A brief introduction to the history of writing is followed by a practical approach to the letters and the joint deciphering of selected short texts from the Documentation Center's collection. You are welcome to bring your own documents to try out reading historical manuscripts.

Workshop leader: Gesa Füßle, translator, proofreader and Sütterlin decipherer
