In the organizer's words:

For over 70 years, the jesters from Ludwigshafen and Mannheim have come together on Carnival Sunday for the big joint carnival parade. The carnival revelers parade with bands, guards, foot groups or on decorated floats.

The spectacle takes place alternately every year through the streets of Ludwigshafen and the following year through the squares of Mannheim city center.
