FATIGUE - Tanz-Performance von Viktor Szeri

In the organizer's words:

As part of"The Art of Staying Many - Nationwide Forums for Art, Freedom and Democracy" organized by the Fonds Darstellende Künste

Mood swings, slowed reflexes, dizziness: the various symptoms of burnout creep unnoticed into everyday life. How can art be created in this grueling state in a world where work is the reason for existence? As many projects as possible, maximum productivity - this seems to be the key to satisfaction, but points the direct path to burnout. In his vulnerable solo, Hungarian choreographer Viktor Szeri draws on personal experiences with the physical and psychological symptoms of burnout. He builds his choreography on fatigue and the desire to do nothing, creating a powerful pull into his worlds of movement, sound and images. At the same time, he explores the creative process, the limits and the tolerance of his own body through the filter of burnout and experiments with how the audience relates to this sedated vision.

"The Art of Remaining Many" is a journey through eight German cities that stands up for art, freedom and democracy in diverse gatherings. New narratives from and against the right, impulses for alternative cultures of remembrance and unheard stories are at the heart of the Potsdam discourse program. In the evening, Viktor Szeri (Hungary) will present a choreography of burnout with his dance performance "Fatigue" at the Hans Otto Theater, while the "ZwischenSpiel" format at the fabrik will showcasethe diversity and creativity of dance on the threshold between the amateur and professional worlds with short dance pieces.

A series of events by the Fonds Darstellende Künste in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut, the Hans Otto Theater, the fabrik Potsdam and other partners.
