Fatma & Fatoş – Musiktheater mit Musiker*innen und Sänger*innen des Operndolmuş der Komischen Oper Berlin

In the organizer's words:

A moving and musical story about arrival, identity, longing and new beginnings: "Fatma & Fatoş" tells the story of women from the first generation of guest workers - between everyday factory life, homesickness, hope and new freedoms.

With works by Georges Bizet, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioacchino Rossini, Georg Friedrich Händel, Oscar Straus, Gerd Natschinski, Nihan Devecioğlu, Sezen Aksu, Özdemir Erdoğan and others.

The opera dolmuş is part of the urban program "Selam Opera!" of the Komische Oper Berlin. The idea: a minibus - named after the Turkish "Dolmuş" (shared cab) - takes singers and musicians from Komische Oper Berlin out into the city and brings small-scale music theater directly to the neighborhoods.
