F.C. GUNDLACH. YOU'LL NEVER WATCH ALONE

From May 2026, the Bucerius Kunst Forum will present the exhibition F.C. Gundlach. You'll Never Watch Alone as part of the Triennial of Photography Hamburg. From May 8 to August 16, 2026, the show is dedicated to the multifaceted work of F.C. Gundlach (1926-2021) and features over 200 exhibits - including iconic fashion photographs, magazine covers and previously unpublished black-and-white and color photographs.

In dialog with works by important artists such as Richard Avedon, Erwin Blumenfeld, Regina Relang and Cindy Sherman, Gundlach's influence on fashion, photography and visual culture becomes just as visible as his international network. The exhibition sheds light on his role as a photographer, gallery owner, collector and promoter of the photography scene and shows how much his work was characterized by exchange, experimentation and social developments.

As the first major presentation after his death, the exhibition also honors Gundlach's 100th birthday and opens up new perspectives on his work and the development of photography in the 20th century.
