you can experience the new start of the 18-piece ensemble!

The Downtown Bigband is a permanent fixture on the North German jazz scene. It played for over forty years under the direction of the American trumpeter Bob Lanese - together with many outstanding musicians.

Bob passed away last April at the age of 82.

Now the band is starting up again under the direction of Edgar Herzog and plays great arrangements by Oliver Nelson and rousing pieces from the traditional downtown repertoire.
