Felix Hauptmann - Percussion

In the organizer's words:

A shared aesthetic feeling within opaque and fluid rhythmic structures is the core of PERCUSSION. The band presents their current album "PERCUSSION II" (boomslang records, March 2023). Felix Hauptmann (piano, composition), Roger Kintopf (bass) and Leif Berger (drums) have been working together in this ensemble for several years, characterized by intensive rehearsals and work processes. The band has been working with Alfred Vogel's unique label "Boomslang Records" since the beginning and has also been heard at the renowned "Bezau Beatz" festival, among others. Here is a quote from the booklet of the current album PERCUSSION II: "I started writing this music with the gentle urge to find a more honest way to express myself. That includes many layers of feelings and thoughts that I felt I couldn't release until I would start to work constantly with a band that consists of the wonderful musicians and my longtime friends Roger and Leif. Both are insanely committed and willing to put a lot of time in rehearsing, talking and playing. After some months of intense work with the ensemble, a general trust began to grow between us - exactly what I was looking for the whole time. The compositions themselves are very complex, leaving a lot of questions unanswered for the three of us, which made us learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. I want the music to be an invitation to try not to expect anything from anyone: for you, the listener as well as for us, the musicians. Through this absence of expectations I hope we can get closer together by accepting more diversity in art and human relationships."
