Felix Nussbaumer

Felix Nussbaumer (*2000) comes from South Tyrol (IT) and has lived and worked in Lucerne (CH) since 2019. He studied with Gerry Hemingway, Magda Mayas, Dieter Ammann, Nat Su and John Voirol, among others. As a composer, he has received commissions from Ensemble Mondrian, Ensemble Soundtrieb, Ensemble Latenz, soyuz21, the Othmar Schoeck Festival, the Festival of Contemporary Music South Tyrol and the Kulturbrauerei Luzern, of which he has been a member since 2020.

After his beginnings in punk rock and jazz music, his musical and artistic interests have shifted to improvised, electro-acoustic, performative and multimedia music, in which he is active as a composer and saxophonist.

In his composed works, Nussbaumer deals with social and political issues in an affective way with a personal approach to electronics and visuality.
