On everyone's lips and yet barely tangible: The patriarchy. In her book "Witches, Bitches, It-Girls. How patriarchal myths still shape us today", author Rebekka Endler sets out to uncover the myths and gender images behind them. She takes us on an entertaining journey through human history and sheds light on patriarchy and its mechanisms of action, from art to politics.
What makes so many women today still dream of a Prince Charming? Why do so-called tradwives promote a life as a housewife and mother? What function do images of women such as witches, bitches and it-girls have? Answers to these questions can be found in the reading and the discussion with her - and of course tangible tips on how we can change the patriarchy if we understand and attack the system behind it.
Rebekka Endler is a freelance author (including Das Patriarchat der Dinge. Warum die Welt Frauen nicht passt, 2021), journalist and podcaster (Feminist Shelf Control).
