The discourse on sexual consent mainly revolves around the two sentences "Only yes means yes" and "No means no". But in practice, sex often looks very different: Insecurities, power imbalances, squishy situations. What's more, our sexuality is strongly influenced by social images - images that often normalize and legitimize violence - keyword: rape culture.
Educators in particular are constantly faced with the question of how to deal with this, as they are confronted with their clients' everyday lives, which include sex and sexuality. This applies both to questions about age-appropriate sexual education for children and young people, but also to adults living out their sexuality. Examples of this debate include the development of a positive sexuality on the one hand and the development of power-critical protection concepts on the other. In both cases, an understanding of consent as a yes-no question is inadequate.
The feminist workshop aims to address this complexity, make it understandable and discussable. There will be time to exchange ideas, connect and network. You can expect inputs and short workshops as well as a discussion round that will deepen the various approaches to the topic.
In addition to an exchange on the topic, the event will also provide opportunities for networking between actors and multipliers for the implementation of further events on the topic of sexual consent.
