One of the largest and liveliest city partnerships with over 50 groups each in Dar es Salaam and Hamburg is celebrating its 15th anniversary. This will be celebrated on Saturday, June 28th from 15:00 andaround the concert shell in Planten un Blomen.

Get to know our twin city. Look forward to hands-on activities - also for children - talks, theater, music and dance. A stage program including concerts, a play about the Maji Maji War in Tanzania in 1905, acrobatics and dance and, of course, a detailed presentation of the partnership and its various projects.

Have you ever ridden in a bajaji, seen how the fire department's high-altitude rescuers abseil, learned how to greet each other in Swahili or practiced a few new dance moves from Tanzania?

The cultural program in the afternoon is designed by the young people. A joint German-Tanzanian production: a play about the Maji-Maji uprising (during the German colonial period in Tanzania), dance groups present their work and young bands liven up the day. Or approach Tanzania from a different angle. At the food stall you can experience our partner country with all your senses.

At this festival, you can experience the town twinning live. 80 friends from Dar es Salaam are also looking forward to meeting you.

And the beautiful surroundings invite you to relax and chat with new friends. We have already ordered sunshine.

From 19:00, we'll get the dancing started. "Abeneko & The Positive Mind" from Dar es Salaam are known for their energetic live performances full of stories and strong messages. A mixture of current East African beats, sing-alongs, funk and Afro-fusion, combined with traditional dances, melodies and rhythms.

At 22:00, a beautiful day is concluded with a special water light concert to Tanzanian music.
