Fest im Museumszentrum Quadrat

In the organizer's words:

Together, three exhibitions form a festive anniversary program that links the past, present and future of the Museumzentrum Quadrat and presents Bottrop's lively and sometimes visionary exhibition and collection history in a varied tour.

A major retrospective of the artist, theorist and pioneer of constructive concrete art Richard Paul Lohse will be presented in the extension building. In the Moderne Galerie, the exhibition 50 Years of the Square invites visitors to discover and help shape the museum, while the Museum of Prehistory and Local History commemorates the founding and early years of the museum with an exhibition on museum director Arno Heinrich.

11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Museum opening hours

• Free admission to all exhibition areas, free participation in the educational program

11 am - 2 pm Open collage workshop "50 years of the Museum Center Square" in the Moderne Galerie

• Collaged visions of the museum's future are created here: you are cordially invited to contribute your own ideas and wishes and make them visible to others.

11.30-13.30 Art talks in the Josef Albers Museum and in the special exhibition "Richard Paul Lohse" as well as cultural talks in the Eiszeithalle

• Our mediators are ready to answer your questions, easily recognizable by an orange lanyard. Share your observations and find out more about individual exhibits.

We also invite you to take part in the culinary intervention "A Tribute to Toast" by Marie Donike and Johannes Specks between 11.30 am and 4.30 pm: Inspired by Josef Albers, there will be spread white bread and pumpernickel cake - let yourself be surprised.
