In 2009, Karin Dreijer set her own insomnia between concrete walls to music with a feverish dream-like force: Under the name Fever Ray, Drejier further developed a dark electronic enchanted forest sound for which The Knife had become world-famous - Dreijer's project with brother Olof. The Knife bid farewell to the music world in 2013 with a queer-theoretical album manifesto and only appeared sporadically in art performances (such as at the Kampnagel Summer Festival in 2015). Fever Ray, however, continued to live as a genderfluid being and has now released their third album "Radical Romantics", a bell hooks-inspired exploration of love, its potential for freedom and its abysses. Produced with brother Olof and others such as Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), songs like "What They Call Us" are electronic music that has become streams of nerves. With darkly driving beats, razor-sharp synthesizers and Dreijer's hypnotic vocals marked by melodic hook lines, Fever Ray penetrates deep into the consciousness. After this iconic contemporary pop project last played one of the audiovisual concerts of the decade at Kampnagel in 2009, Fever Ray is now coming back to Kampnagel.
