It is often the most difficult challenges that allow musicians to grow artistically. For LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE, one of the most innovative and successful German dark metal bands of our time, the current studio album 'How To Shroud Yourself With Night' was primarily about the supposed burden of their 2019 hit record 'Bleeding The Stars'. The record had indirectly raised huge expectations: 'Album of the Month' in Metal Hammer, Orkus and Dead Rhetoric, top 10 placements in the other important magazines, as well as chart entries and the band's most successful headlining tour to date.

Who wouldn't automatically flirt with a sequel?

For guitarist and band founder Oliver Nikolas Schmid, who has indispensable support in his brother and lyricist Christopher, however, it was more about freeing himself from the pressure of success and trying to raise the bar and remain original, rather than playing it safe and writing a kind of 'Bleeding Part II'.

With their latest album, LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE throw the oppressive veil of melancholy into the dark night and show what beauty it can contain - with doomy riffs and deeply sad melodic guitar and keyboard passages full of fascinating atmosphere.

Their courage has been rewarded, the guys are going from success to success: sold-out headlining shows, full houses wherever they play and festivals that have to make it easier to get into the afternoon show because there are so many people. Plus a whopping 110,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and 120,000 followers on Facebook.

'We've never been such a tight-knit unit and ready to expand our own sound,' says guitarist Oliver and promises that LACRIMAS PROFUNDERE will continue to tear up the clubs on their current tour.
