Film adaptation of the first volume of the Tolkien trilogy, in which hobbit Frodo sets out on the march towards Mordor to destroy the One Ring.

The young hobbit Frodo receives an extraordinary ring as a gift from his uncle Bilbo. Frodo learns from the wizard Gandalf that it is the mighty ring of the evil Sauron. To prevent his return to power, the ring must be destroyed in Sauron's realm of Mordor. Frodo sets off on the arduous journey, but his enemies are not far away.
After his 111th birthday, the hobbit Bilbo Baggins decides with a heavy heart to hand over a magic ring to his nephew Frodo. The great wizard Gandalf entrusts Frodo with the task of bringing the ring to the realm of the wizard Sauron, who is striving to rule Middle-earth. There he is to destroy it in the magma of Mount Doom. So Frodo sets off on the dangerous journey accompanied by Gandalf, his hobbit friends, a dwarf and human and elven companions.
