Although Will Hunting comes from the working class and feels very much at home there, he is a math genius who solves even the most difficult problems with ease. The boy comes to the attention of the ambitious Professor Lambeau, who spares the irascible Will a spell in prison after a fight by sending him to therapy with the equally emotionally scarred Professor McGuire.
Wild, rebellious, charismatic and ingenious - these are the qualities that characterize Will Hunting, a young man from Boston's working class. Although he ekes out a living as an unskilled laborer, his outstanding IQ enables him to solve math problems that would drive even Nobel Prize winners to despair. When he gets into trouble with the law one day, he has a choice: prison or therapy. This is how he meets college professor Sean McGuire, who does everything he can to integrate Will into society against his will.
