Director Jochen Hick presents his film about queer people who have found a new home in Berlin:
QUEER EXILE BERLIN
DEU 2023. dir: Jochen Hick. Documentary. 109 min. English-dtOmdtU. FSK: 12
Berlin as a self-imposed exile for queer people from all over the world: Jochen Hick, one of the most important LGBTI filmmakers in Germany, accompanies some of them. For example, Eunice from Portugal, who is beginning his transition process, Haidar from Syria, who works as a dancer and performer called "The Darvish", Mischa, of Armenian descent, who explores his body and sexuality in spectacular live shows, the drag queen Gloria or the activist Monika - a true portrait of Berlin as a perpetual place of longing and a challenge for all newcomers. "Extremely worth seeing - 5 stars!" (Tip Berlin) - "a film for non-Berliners, for those unfamiliar with the scene and people who have fallen for the misrepresentation of some groups." (kino-zeit.de)
On June 7 in the presence of director Jochen Hick, followed by a discussion!
