What is it about?

Between hope and broken dreams - Two lives in Iraq

After years of war, occupation and political violence, "Immortals" follows two young people in Baghdad in the aftermath of the "October Revolution" of 2019: Milo, a courageous feminist who pretends to be a man in order to fight for freedom, and Khalili, a filmmaker who documents the protests with his camera. Between hope and repression, they become the voices of a new generation fighting for freedom, self-determination and a better future.

After the screening

After the film, we look forward to a discussion with director Maja Tschumi and protagonist Milo. Together we will take a look behind the scenes and talk about the making of the film and life in Iraq today. An evening for all documentary film fans and for those who are interested in current events in the Middle East.
