Filmscreening: The Librarians

Since 2021, there has been a massive increase in attempts to censor book collections in libraries in the USA. School libraries in particular, but also public libraries, are subject to well-organized campaigns to remove books in the name of youth protection. The most affected are titles on sex education, sexual preference and identity, as well as works on African-American history, racism, diversity and equality. THE LIBRARIANS portrays librarians, parents and others who are fighting back against the censorship attempts - despite massive threats, intimidation and even criminalization in some places.
