Ulrike Ottinger, FRG 1989, 35 mm, 168 min., OV: Mongolian, French, German with English subtitles
Four Western women are abducted from the Trans-Siberian Railway to the grasslands of Inner Mongolia by the Mongolian princess Ulun Iga and her warriors. They take part in the nomadic culture, shamanistic ceremonies and dances. Ulrike Ottinger stages this adventurous encounter between two cultures as an impressionistic celebration of shared anthropology.
