Dory Sontheimer, born in Barcelona, discovered seven boxes of letters, photos and documents in the attic of her parents' house after the death of her mother. In them, she came across the previously unknown history of her family, who were persecuted in Germany by the National Socialists for being Jewish. Researching her ancestors led her to Freiburg - and then to Israel, the Czech Republic, Argentina, Canada and the USA.
