The documentary DER WUNSCH accompanies lovers Maria and Christiane over a period of 10 years on their emotional journey to fulfill their life's wish: to have a child together. The director, a childhood friend of Maria's, sensitively tells the story of how the couple deal with ever-increasing challenges. Hurdles in the healthcare system, the biological clock and the emotional highs and lows that the couple experience put their relationship under increasing pressure.
