FIVE ELEMENTS - eine audiovisuelle LIve-Performance

In his
new performance, he combines film and music into a hypnotic interplay. As a
multi-instrumentalist, he plays the piano, flugelhorn, bass, and percussion, and sings live to
synchronized film sequences. The element of “water” is particularly fascinating: Using
a homemade hydrophone, he records sounds in a water basin,
while a camera dives into the depths along with the sounds. Vast reverberant spaces emerge,
making the hidden world of the oceans audible.
The project explores our perception, the connection between humans and nature,
the destruction of the Earth, and the seemingly invisible aspects of the world. Fractal
structures emerge in everyday details and open our eyes to the big picture
small. For years, Daniel Thieme has been experimenting with scientific precision
to fuse sound and image into an immersive experience.
