Flipturn are coming to Germany for three shows. The five-piece band makes indie rock for endless summers, sun-drenched days and thoughtful nights. It's a cinematic sound rooted not only in the Florida cities where the musicians first came together as teenagers, but also in the anthemic live show that has taken Flipturn from coast to coast. Since their formation in 2015, Flipturn has expanded its reach far beyond the walls of the Fernandina Beach garage where they first rehearsed. Consisting of Dillon Basse, Tristan Duncan, Madeline Jarman, Mitch Fountain and Devon VonBalson, Flipturn have long been working towards the release of their debut album, "Shadowglow" - a snapshot of a band halfway between youthful optimism and adult precision, with songs aimed equally at the head and the heart. The album captures the energy of their live shows in 14 tracks, combining indie rock hooks with shimmering soundscapes. The sound is versatile, which is evident in tracks like "Whales", "Sad Disco" or "Orbit", which range from maritime electronic sounds to deep-seated grooves. Flipturn's music suits both rock clubs and festival stages and conveys a message that is as effective on headphones as it is live. The band's lyrics address topics such as anxiety, climate change and the challenges of the digital age, striking a chord with their generation. They are proud of the community they have built and their debut album reflects this connection, but also the challenges they face as a band and as individuals. With over 100 million Spotify streams and sold out shows in the US, Flipturn have already secured their place in the indie scene. They have performed at well-known festivals such as Lollapalooza and have accompanied bands such as Mt. Joy and Rainbow Kitten Surprise on tour. In November, the band will finally be coming to Germany and we can look forward to three shows in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne.
