Flussfest an der Wupperwiese
In the organizer's words:
More Wupper for Wuppertal
On August 29, the new Wupperwiese at Hünefeldstraße 6–8 will open with a free river festival for everyone. Right on the banks of the Wupper, a new gathering place for everyone is taking shape—developed based on the ideas and wishes of the Unterbarmen neighborhood.
From 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., visitors can enjoy live music, food and drinks, games for children, a paper boat race, a research station, a hands-on exhibition, and other interactive activities.
The Wupperwiese is a project by Public Interest Design students Vanessa Enigk and Augusta Muzard at the University of Wuppertal. Together with the neighborhood, they aim to make the Wupper more accessible as a public space, meeting place, and place to spend time.
