FOOD & FOOTAGE: In the Sun Life

The narrated truth of a bicycle ride home.

The King of Nameless Things lives alone in his kingdom and has everything at his disposal. Due to a physical indigestion caused by excessive abundance, he sets out in search of someone with whom he can share his kingdom and his loneliness. First he comes to the city, but no one there will listen to him, everyone is fixated on their own goal. He tries to talk to bricks, but these also turn out to be unfriendly. He then moves to the river, where he meets people who distrust bricks: "What is rigid can be destroyed. Water is safe because it chooses not to have a form." There he regenerates, but still misses someone who accepts his realm of abundance. Only in the final stage, the world of ideas, does he find a radiant habitat in which he is not alone. But their radiance has a secret: they know a way to catch the sun.

FOOD & FOOTAGE combines indie and art films with a culinary offering based on the themes of the films. At this edition, the director of the film will be in the kitchen for you in person! Francesco Re Li Calzi is a visual artist from Sicily who explores the relationship between experience and art. His work is multidisciplinary and ranges from photographs, videos and performances to interventions in public spaces and workshops in which space and body are connected through the play of art.
