Forschertag im Zoo mit der Weser-Elbe Sparkasse

On a research trip through the zoo, the secret wonders of nature are explained at various research stations scattered around the zoo. Various hands-on experiments appeal to all the senses. Only those who observe carefully, think and try things out can solve the mysteries of nature and experience at first hand how perfectly the various animals are adapted to their habitat.

Like real researchers, visitors can examine the hair of the polar bear, for example with the help of microscopes. They will discover a cavity and, with the help of explanations, understand how this protects the polar bear in the Arctic cold. The dexterity of visitors young and old is called for in our "fumble tube game", which zoos use to promote the intelligence of chimpanzees. In another experiment, visitors slip into the role of a water bird and experience the advantages of webbed feet on their own bodies. Experiencing nature and thus promoting the preservation of animal and plant diversity is also the focus when making flower seed bombs. The employees of Weser-Elbe Sparkasse and Phänomenta show how it's done.
