In just a few years, Martin Bechler, head and singer of the Cologne-based indie band Fortuna Ehrenfeld, has taken his project from a moderately attended pub concert to a sold-out Cologne Philharmonic Hall.

With his unique poetry and deeply moving songs, Bechler has become an integral part of the German indie scene. Solo on the piano, the words gain weight and deep spaces open up. In addition to classics such as Zwei Himmel and Heiliges Fernweh, we can now look forward to Vol. 2 of the most beautiful songs from his now remarkable oeuvre.

In 2024, he was awarded the German Cabaret Prize for his "...intoxicating melodies and musical resistance".
