Fotoausstellung: Roman Weis - dual

At Atelier 3 Linden in Essen’s Südviertel neighborhood, Roman Weis is presenting his photography exhibition titled “dual.”
The exhibition features images that can be classified as staged photography. The spectrum of works on display ranges from portraits to skateboards arranged as still lifes to film-still-like scenes. The exhibition’s title refers to a central principle that connects the works and establishes relationships between them. Recurring graphic elements, reflections, and formal analogies create a network of connections.
The idea of duality permeates the exhibition as an aesthetic and conceptual strategy—as a contrast between the visible and the hidden, between reality and fiction.
Roman Weis lives and works in Essen. He studied photography from 1998 to 2006 at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen under Prof. Bernhard Prinz.
