Frames: Our Stories Film Sit In
[Sit-in] noun - any organized protest in which a group of people peacefully occupy and refuse to leave a premises.
Berlin's film space will never be the same. Frames Film Sit-in is a claiming of space for stories that deserve everlasting sunlight. These are your stories! Your lives unfolding on 35mm. Your voices crescendoing into a chorus that can never be silenced. Frames Film Sit-in is about narratives... it's about love... it's about overcoming... it's about community... and the story isn't complete without you.
We have curated over 15 hours of programming created by Afro-diaspora film makers from all over the world. There will be stories that'll make you laugh, cry and hug the stranger next to you. The film festival will unfold over three nights in February (13th, 21st, & 28th). The curatorial team consists of Tune from Slap'd; Bianca from @audio_video_club based in Atlanta, Ga.; and Lena (@lena_whooo) and Yagi (@yagitown) from The Black Gaze. Simultaneously, we will be unveiling a new limited group art exhibition (more details coming soon).
On the final night of the festival, we will announce the festival winners and then hand the night over to the @the_yuncs who will close Frames Film Sit-in in style and elegance with the Funktion🎶🎶🎶🎶.
Entry is free, but space is limited and you must RSVP!
