An all-French program with renowned composers of the 19th and 20th centuries who wrote music history. Works by Claude Debussy, Édouard Lalo, Jules Massenet, Georges Bizet, Camille Saint-Saëns and Maurice Ravel will be performed.
The repertoire offers delicate tonal color studies of the Romantic period, the typical French tone of Impressionism and exotic coloring from the heyday of the Belle Époque. The instrumentation is very varied - from solo flute to duos to quintet, partly with harp, and finally septet.
The program will be conducted by Franz Schottky, one of the last and closest students of the legendary Sergiu Celibidache. The exquisite program as well as the knowledgeable moderation promise a harmonious, top-class concert with a French touch that you should not miss.
