Free admission to the outdoor pool—all summer long! For three siblings, this dream becomes a reality. Alf, Katinka, and Robbie leave their small city apartment behind and head to a paradise of the smell of chlorine, crispy fries, and water slides. Surrounded by the mini-community that gathers at the outdoor pool, the three quickly realize that besides the diving board, there are other challenges that test their courage: unfair announcements from the Walrus, uncontrollable butterflies in their stomachs, and standing up for new friends at the poolside! And what happens when summer is over?
Based on the novel by Will Gmehling, which won the Youth Literature Prize in 2020, Freibad tells a story of siblinghood, solidarity, and friendship, bringing a touch of summer to the theater stage.
