Film content: 1. FC Union Berlin played continuously in the 2nd Bundesliga for ten years before the club finally made it into the 1st Bundesliga via the relegation places in the 2018/2019 season. It all began in 1966 in the Berlin district of Oberschöneweide in Köpenick. The team has always played at the Stadion an der Alten Försterei and enjoys absolute cult status beyond the city limits. However, Eisern Union has been in a state of flux since its promotion to the top flight: on the one hand, the aim is to maintain the family tradition and closeness to the fans, while on the other hand, the club wants to continue playing first-class soccer. An often difficult undertaking, as the fans have a very special relationship with the club, which also has to do with the East German soul.
