The summer of gratitude
Before answering any further questions, Fritz Eckenga would first like to thank his audience, who made this great success possible in the first place. If there weren't so many people who have left their walled dwellings for years to be told something in a large tent for a fee that they can't even choose, without these loyal souls his summer special programs for the Ruhr High German Festival could never have become what they undoubtedly are today: An institution that has a permanent place in the heart of this city, comparable at best to other institutions. For example, the main railroad station or some stall where you can still get a can of gu-lash at eleven in the evening.

His second heartfelt thanks go to the many helpers, without whom he could never have succeeded in his self-sacrificing fight for a more beautiful Dortmund. To Saskia, Britta and Roman, to name just three of the four.

And only his third thanks goes to himself in simple modesty. He says: "Thank you, Fritz - please keep up the good work!" He doesn't need to be asked twice. He has always listened to himself best.
