Guided tour of the city's history with Ferdinand Leuxner

The oldest depiction of a pet in the Museum of Culture and City History dates back to the year 25 A.D. It is the lapdog of the Roman Polla Matidia. We humans have been sharing our lives with animals for thousands of years. However, which creatures have a place in our midst has changed again and again over the centuries. Once the love for an animal species has died out, its representatives are removed from our environment - with drastic consequences for them. Join us in the museum on a search for traces of domestic animals and those that once were.
