The guided tour through the listed Wilhelminian-style villa in Oldenburg opens up access to a special place of philosophy, memory and research. The focus is on Karl Jaspers' original working library - with hundreds of books, handwritten notes and personal inserts. The tour is complemented by exhibits from the estate of Karl and Gertrud Jaspers: furniture, letters, photos and everyday objects bring the life of the philosopher vividly to life. On the upper floor, the tour also provides insights into the Hannah Arendt Archive, which provides unique access to the political theorist's thinking with its extensive materials. Architecture, biography, research and the history of ideas come together here to create a lively experience in the heart of Oldenburg.
