An evening with Alex von Humboldt - super scientist, namesake of the Humboldt Forum, second discoverer of America! Even in the role of both the discovered and the discoverer, three Latinx performers break the Humboldtian gaze. In sculptures, plants, stones and their own biographies, they search for decolonial counter-stories and use two products, potatoes and plaster, to create a dazzling web of unexpected images and dense narratives.
The KMZ Kollektiv already explored colonial continuities and biographical material in their award-winning production "Kaffee mit Zucker?", which premiered at Schaubude Berlin in 2021 and was shown at Theater der Welt and other venues. This is where the group from El Salvador, Mexico, Cuba, Spain and Germany picks up with their performance "Fünf Exponate".
